Spring is in full swing as evidenced by Lotus Sales, if not by the weather. Lotus USA is coming off its best retail month in some time and now the arrival of the first US Spec Evoras. “The future is so bright I’ve got to wear shades.” February 5th many of you participated in the Evora event at our dealership, and I think all expectations were exceeded by the vehicle. Thank you all. While the weather did not cooperate we were still able to demonstrate the vehicle to 25 persons. The following day on the 6th we took the Evora to Naples for the Cars on 5th exotic car show. About 10,000 people attended the event. The Evora was certainly a head turner that created a lot of interest and excitement. After all, the average person can negotiate the ingress and egress. The styling, fit and finish, and drivability will bring Lotus a new level of recognition to a broader audience of potential owners with this product. I have one of the 20 USA bound Exige S260’s slated for the US on the way in. I should have this by the end of March to middle of April. Lotus has a promotion running on these vehicles for the purchaser. A trip to Skip Barber Diving School on Lotus. This is about $3,500 value. Also on track for the end of the summer is the redesigned Elise. Still retaining the unique styling that sets Elise apart, Lotus has given the 2011 a fresh sculptured front with a new bumper, front clam, and access panel. The new look gives the Elise a wider more planted stance on the road. The headlight design incorporates LED’s for daytime running lights and directional indicators. The rear of the 2011 Elise includes a new bumper, engine cover design and a more aggressive diffuser.
